People experience light differently – especially when it comes to colors.
While 3000K can provide a warm and cozy atmosphere, some people find it too yellowish and can make light or cool hair colors look darker or warmer than they actually are.
4000K provides a brighter and crisper light, which some prefer, but it can also make warm tones appear flat or grayish.
More and more hairdressers are therefore choosing 3500K – the golden middle ground that is neither too warm nor too cool. It provides more neutral and natural hair colors and works well in both modern and classic salon environments.
Several things affect how the light is actually experienced in the room:
Wall color and materials
Light walls and mirrors reflect light, making it brighter and more “cool.” Dark walls and warm materials like wood, on the other hand, can give a more subdued and warm feeling – even at the same light temperature.
Windows and light
The orientation of the windows is important. South-facing windows provide warm, sunny daylight, while north-facing windows provide colder, bluer light. This affects how artificial light is experienced in the room – especially during the day.
The amount of daylight and the season
In the summer there is plenty of natural light mixed with artificial light. In the winter, artificial light is the primary light – and here the color tone will have an even greater impact on the mood.
Personal preferences and age
Older people often have a slightly different color perception than younger people and often prefer warmer light. Some people are also just more sensitive to cold or warm tones – just like with sound or taste.
The style and atmosphere of the salon
A lounge-like, cozy room is better suited to slightly warmer lighting, while a more modern or clinical look can easily handle cooler lighting. And regardless of the style – the hair colors must of course be reproduced correctly.
That's why our panel is adjustable, so you can easily find the color temperature that suits your salon.
Please note that the colors shown may differ from the actual colors you will experience in reality, as screen settings can affect color reproduction.
